What is PTU?

PTU is a national association that is engaged in creating equal conditions and increased quality of life for people suffering from serious injuries caused by an accident or a disease.

PTU specializes in:

  • Improving the conditions for people suffering from serious injuries
  • Supporting its members through counseling, seminars and events
  • Providing information about the members of the association and making them visible

This task is carried out in collaboration with the many volunteers all over the country who help the 9,000 members affected by:

  • Injury caused by accidents
  • Whiplash injury
  • Injury to the spinal cord
  • Polio and post polio

PTU also runs a specialized hospital for people with permanent mobility disabilities and a car department, which makes it possible for handicapped people to drive on their own.

Polio Trafik og Ulykkedes skadede

PTU - Livet efter ulykken er en landsdækkende forening, der arbejder for at skabe ligeværdige vilkår og øget livskvalitet for de over 100.000 danskere, som har alvorlige skader efter en ulykke eller sygdom.

PTU driver derudover et specialsygehus for personer med varigt bevægelses-
handicap samt en bilafdeling, der gør det muligt for handicappede at blive selvkørende.
