Injuries associated with traffic and other accidents

Danish hospitals admit about 80,000 accident victims every year. At least 1,200 of these patients will be afflicted with a permanent life-long disability, such as a spinal cord injury, which may entail wheelchair confinement.

PTU works actively on behalf of traffic and other accident victims by involving itself in preventive efforts to boost traffic safety standards and by treating, counselling and advising accident victims experiencing restricted mobility.
